Why This Blog Exists: Shedding Light on Asia’s Grey Areas

Because this blog isn’t just about me. It’s a shared quest — a desire to answer all those questions you type into Google, but never quite find the answers to. Or if they exist, they’re unclear, outdated, or buried.

.

In the near future, and with your help, I hope to represent the majority of Asian countries here.

A Simple Idea: Making Asia Understandable

This blog was born from a clear realization: practical information about Southeast and East Asia is often incomplete, outdated, unclear, or simply nonexistent—especially when it comes to everyday realities.

Whether you're a curious traveler, a long-term expat, a digital nomad, or simply someone passionate about Asia, you've likely struggled to find reliable insights on:

  • Local laws and legislation (visas, work permits, long-term stays)

  • Cultural customs and expected behavior

  • Public holidays and religious festivals

  • Social, dress, and administrative norms

  • And those invisible rules that separate a visitor from a welcomed guest

Why I Started This Blog

Because I live in Asia—and I’m looking for these answers too.
I decided to begin with three countries: Vietnam, Thailand, and South Korea.

Why these three?
Because I know them well.

Because I’ve lived in them, traveled through them, or still call them home (I’m currently based in Vietnam).

And because in these countries, tradition, modernity, and bureaucratic complexity coexist—often without translation.

A Blog That Moves Slowly... But Steadily

I’m not a media company.
I’m just one person.

But every day, I write a little.
One new article. One update. One verified source.

Bit by bit, I hope to build a living library of useful content about Asia—content that’s precise, up to date, and accessible.
It will take time. But I believe it’s worth it.

Help Me Build It

This blog only matters if it helps you.
And it can grow faster with your questions.

Got a doubt about life in Korea?
A legal question in Vietnam?
A Thai cultural nuance that doesn’t make sense to you?

Write to me via the contact form.

Every question is a potential article.
Every message is a new brick in this evolving project.

This blog is for you—but it’s also with you.

Thank you for reading.
Thank you for sharing.
And welcome to a sincere, human exploration of today’s Asia.
